SBDM Special Meeting
July 19, 2013
Minutes
Meeting opened with Bill Hammond, Anita Cantrell, Tonya
Burket, Chad Williams and Tom Castle present.
Bill Hammond made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to
approve the agenda.
Anita Cantrell made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded, to
approve the minutes from May 7, 2013.
Council elected Bill Hammond Co-chairman and Secretary for
the 2013 – 2014 SBDM Council. Chad Williams made the motion, Tonya Burket
seconded for the Co-chairman position, Chad Williams made the motion, Anita
Cantrell seconded for the secretary position.
Council set the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 PM in
the Louisa Middle School Library as the date, time and place for regularly
scheduled meetings.
Bill Hammond made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded to approve
the school schedule.
Tonya Burket made the motion, Chad Williams seconded, to
approve the Professional Development Plan.
Tom Castle made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to
appoint Carmella Rose as the ESS Coordinator and hire Nancy Perry, Phyllis
Waller and Brian Akers as ESS teachers.
Tom Castle made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded, to appoint
Carmella Rose as GATE Facilitator.
Council developed criteria for the vacant Social Studies
Position.
Council developed Interview Questions for the vacant
position.
Chad Williams made a motion, Bill Hammond seconded, to
approve the budgets.
Anita Cantrell made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded, to
approve the principal’s combined budget.
Council reviewed the CSIP.
Council reviewed the Program Review.
Bill Hammond made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded, to
approve policies on: 1. Consultation, 2. Homework and 3. Principal Selection.
(with amendments)
Chad Williams made a motion, Bill Hammond seconded, to enter
Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel as per KRS 61.810 (1)
(f).
Bill Hammond made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to
return to open session.
New Business:
Council was presented with an
option for copier purchase / leasing. Council does not anticipate the addition
of a copier this school year.
LMS would like to continue the
community movie night and to purchase the necessary license at a cost of
$375.00 per year.
August 13
is the district wide open house.
July 30 is
the open house for Louisa Middle School.
August 8 is the meeting for school
councils at the Community Center. This meeting may be used as credit for three
hours training for experienced members.
Curriculum Associate Books to be
purchased for Math and Reading for all three grades at Louisa Middle School.
LMS SBDM Council’s next meeting is scheduled for Thursday,
July 25, 2013 @ 4:00 PM at the Louisa Middle School Library. Interviews will be
conducted at this meeting.
Tonya Burket made a motion, Bill Hammond seconded, to
adjourn the meeting.
