February 25, 2014

Minutes

Meeting opened with Bill Hammond, Tonya Burkett, Anita Cantrell, Mark Cavins, Chad Williams and Tom Castle present.

Tonya Burkett made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to approve the agenda.

January 14th minutes will be approved at the next meeting.

Chad Williams made a motion, Tonya Burkett seconded, to approve the budgets.

SBDM approves adding Soccer Booster account.

SBDM accepted the Youth Service Center Continuation Grant 2015-2016.

Mr. Castle shared and discussed the 2014-15 allocations, Section 7 and Title 1 money.

New business
            Soccer: McDonald’s peel card fundraiser.
            Dawson Southers, champion of Regional Science Fair: $1200.
            Lincoln Rose finished second.
Kate Cecil, Carrie Jo Cecil and Ashley Hayes advanced to state competition in Kentucky Governor’s Cup competition.
            Fallsburg and Louisa Middle School are competing in an attendance race.
            March 8, 2014, LMS will compete in the History Bowl at Russell Middle School.

Minutes

Meeting opened with Bill Hammond, Anita Cantrell, Chad Williams and Tom Castle present.

Chad Williams made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to approve the agenda.

Anita Cantrell made a motion, Chad Williams seconded, to approve the minutes from November 26, 2013.

Bill Hammond made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to approve the budgets (with a question about the multiple RADA knife listing).

SBDM reviews Open Meetings & Open Records Act.

SBDM reviewed the 45-day plan.

Bill Hammond made a motion, Chad Williams seconded, to enter Executive Session for Personnel as per KRS 61.810 (1) (f).

Council returned to open session.
Council recommended Todd Compton for Middle School baseball, Melissa Davis for Middle School softball, Tim Hayes assisting.


New business
            MAP Testing
            Anna Wray Grayson advanced to Middle School State Choir in Louisville.
            District Academic Team will be held 1/18 (Saturday).
            District Band: 1/16, 17, 18.
            iMac mini lab installed in Sixth Grade computer lab.
            January 27, joint meeting at 6 PM.

Meeting opened with Bill Hammond, Anita Cantrell, Chad Williams and Tom Castle present.

Chad Williams made a motion, Bill Hammond seconded, to approve the agenda.

Bill Hammond made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to approve the minutes from the July 19, July 25 and July 29 meetings.

Chad Williams made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to approve the budgets moving $725.00 from 694 to 0810.

CSIP I & I addressed.

Council reviewed Big Rock (45 day) plan.

Council developed interview questions for vacant position.

Bill Hammond made a motion, Chad Williams seconded, to enter executive session for personnel as per KRS 61.810 (1) (f).

Chad Williams made a motion, Bill Hammond seconded to return to open session.

New Business:

July 19, 2013

Minutes

Meeting opened with Bill Hammond, Anita Cantrell, Tonya Burket, Chad Williams and Tom Castle present.

Bill Hammond made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to approve the agenda.

Anita Cantrell made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded, to approve the minutes from May 7, 2013.

Council elected Bill Hammond Co-chairman and Secretary for the 2013 – 2014 SBDM Council. Chad Williams made the motion, Tonya Burket seconded for the Co-chairman position, Chad Williams made the motion, Anita Cantrell seconded for the secretary position.

Council set the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 PM in the Louisa Middle School Library as the date, time and place for regularly scheduled meetings.

Bill Hammond made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded to approve the school schedule.

Tonya Burket made the motion, Chad Williams seconded, to approve the Professional Development Plan.

Tom Castle made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to appoint Carmella Rose as the ESS Coordinator and hire Nancy Perry, Phyllis Waller and Brian Akers as ESS teachers.

Tom Castle made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded, to appoint Carmella Rose as GATE Facilitator.

Council developed criteria for the vacant Social Studies Position.

Council developed Interview Questions for the vacant position.

Chad Williams made a motion, Bill Hammond seconded, to approve the budgets.

Anita Cantrell made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded, to approve the principal’s combined budget.

Council reviewed the CSIP.

Council reviewed the Program Review.

Bill Hammond made a motion, Tonya Burket seconded, to approve policies on: 1. Consultation, 2. Homework and 3. Principal Selection. (with amendments)

Chad Williams made a motion, Bill Hammond seconded, to enter Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel as per KRS 61.810 (1) (f).

Bill Hammond made a motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to return to open session.

New Business:
Council was presented with an option for copier purchase / leasing. Council does not anticipate the addition of a copier this school year.

LMS would like to continue the community movie night and to purchase the necessary license at a cost of $375.00 per year.

            August 13 is the district wide open house.

            July 30 is the open house for Louisa Middle School.

August 8 is the meeting for school councils at the Community Center. This meeting may be used as credit for three hours training for experienced members.

Curriculum Associate Books to be purchased for Math and Reading for all three grades at Louisa Middle School.


LMS SBDM Council’s next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 25, 2013 @ 4:00 PM at the Louisa Middle School Library. Interviews will be conducted at this meeting.

Aug. 9th, 2012      

Meeting called to order at 4:30 PM with Tom Castle, Chad Williams, Tonya Castle and Anita Cantrell present.

Tonya Castle made the motion, Anita Cantrell seconded, to approve the agenda.

Chad Williams made the motion, Tonya Castle seconded, to move into Executive Session- Personnel as per KRS 61.810 (1)(f).

Anita Cantrell made the motion, Chad Williams seconded, to return to open session.

Council consulted with Principal after interviewing for Instructional Assistants position.

Council recommended the hiring of Keary Ratcliffe as head coach of boys basketball team (8th grade) and Joey Hardin head coach of boys basketball team (7th grade).

 Council recommended the hiring of Phyllis Waller and Nancy Perry as ESS daytime teachers.
